Data from a business association as of the first quarter of 2024. They have identified 124 operators in 58 countries and regions around the world that are investing in 5G SA.  Among them, at least 49 operators in 29 countries and regions have launched or deployed public 5G SA networks.

Operators are increasingly testing and deploying 5G SA networks. So some of the expected benefits of introducing this technology are many. This includes faster connection times, support for a large number of devices. There will also be the ability for programmable systems to create services and network slices faster and more flexibly.
This also improves the management of service level agreements within these slices. As well as the emergence of new radio voice technologies.

As of 1Q24, 58 countries around the world are investing in 5G SA

The introduction of 5G SA has the expectation of simplifying the architecture, improving security and reducing costs. The technology can better deliver customized services and new service and revenue opportunities to corporate, industrial and government customers.
The association is tracking network operators’ testing and deployment of 5G SA networks.

5G SA network can be deployed in a variety of scenarios:
As coverage of public 5G non-SA networks;
Greenfield 5G deployment as a public network operator without a separate LTE network;
Or as network deployment for enterprises, public utilities, education, and government;
Or other private network deployments for organizations that require their own private campus network.

On April 29, 2024, this association released the latest 5G-Standalone (5G SA) network deployment survey report. They have identified 124 operators in 58 countries and regions around the world that are investing in 5G SA. These operators have already invested in public 5G SA networks in the form of trials, plans or actual deployments.

It is understood that at least 49 operators in 29 countries and regions have launched or deployed public 5G SA networks.
In addition, 22 operators have deployed or piloted 5G SA on public networks. 49 operators are planning to deploy or evaluate, test or trial this technology.
In addition to the above-mentioned 5G SA investments in public mobile networks. Some organizations are testing, piloting or deploying 5G SA technology for private networks.

Data and content as of the last update in January 2024. It is understood that current data shows that 1,384 organizations are deploying LTE/5G private mobile networks. Or have so far obtained licenses suitable for deploying private LTE/5G networks.
