In the second quarter of 2024, global RAN revenues fell at a double-digit rate year-on-year for the fourth consecutive quarter.

According to a recent report released by Market Research Group, preliminary findings show:
1. Radio Access Network (RAN) market conditions remain challenging.
2. Global RAN revenues fell at a double-digit rate year-on-year for the fourth consecutive quarter
3. Some markets performed better, with growth in three of the six tracking regions.

RAN market declines but there is still hope

Market Research Group Vice President and Analyst said:
"Even if the RAN market continued to decline at a double-digit rate in the first half of the year."
"But the second quarter saw some glimmers of hope, that is, the bottom of the double-digit decline cycle may now be temporarily over."
"This does not change the fact that the RAN market is expected to decline at a compound annual growth rate of 2% over the next five years."
"But the rate of decline should ease."

Other highlights of the second quarter RAN report in 2024:
1. Total RAN revenues are basically in line with expectations.
2. The supplier rankings shown in the report remain basically unchanged.
3. The short-term forecast for RAN remains largely unchanged since the 5-year forecast update. Global RAN outside of China is expected to decline by 8% to 12%.
