According to the latest version of a certain report, by the end of 2029, 5G users will approach 5.6 billion. Global 5G population coverage outside mainland China will increase from 40% at the end of 2023 to 80% at the end of 2029.

According to the latest version of a certain company report:
By the end of 2029, 5G users will approach 5.6 billion.
Global 5G population coverage outside mainland China will increase from 40% at the end of 2023 to 80% at the end of 2029.
Around 300 companies offer 5G services globally, with approximately 50 of them already offering 5G standalone services. Mobile users worldwide are increasingly adopting 5G, and experts predict that 60% of them will be using it by the end of 2029. In the first quarter of 2024, the total number of 5G users worldwide increased by about 160 million, reaching more than 1.7 billion. Experts expect nearly 600 million new users to join throughout 2024.

Experts predict that mobile network data traffic will increase by 25% annually from March 2023 to March 2024. Users drive this growth by switching to advanced services that require more data.

Experts predict that the amount of data used on mobile devices will grow by about 20% each year until 2029. By the end of 2023, about a quarter of mobile network data will be handled by 5G. This proportion is expected to grow to about 75% by the end of 2029.

The company's executive vice president and head of networks said:
"The report shows continued strong growth in 5G users."
"Enhanced mobile broadband and fixed wireless access are the main use cases."
"Indications are present that 5G features are impacting the fixed wireless access offerings of service providers."
"The report says we need more 5G technology to make the most of 5G."

Fixed wireless access is increasingly popular among communication service providers globally. There has been a significant rise in the number of providers offering this service in the past year.

By the conclusion of the projected timeline, users anticipate 5G to emerge as the prevailing mobile access technology. This is despite the growth of 5G population coverage. But telecommunications companies have deployed 5G mid-band in only about 25% of all sites worldwide outside mainland China.

As 5G technology evolves, numerous service providers anticipate redirecting their attention towards creating unique connectivity solutions.

The population coverage of 5G mid-band outside mainland China has attained 35%. North America and India have seen rapid deployment, with mid-band coverage exceeding 85% and 90%, respectively.
